This is my second 928. Back in the day I would do most of the maintenance myself. Well, that was 25 years ago, and I will not work on cars on jack stands anymore. Back in the 90’s most foreign car mechanics would work on the Porsche 928 with no hesitancy. In 2022 I have found it nearly impossible to find anyone who will look at a 928 much less do any work on them. The few that I did find that would “take a look” did not give me a warm fuzzy. So, as politely as I could be, I avoided having any work done by folks that appeared to not know what they were getting into. At my wits end and feeling helpless I got in touch with Roger who introduced me to Don down in Pflugerville Texas. After speaking with Don for about ten minutes I knew that he was the real deal. I was very relieved when my 928 was in his shop getting the attention she needed. Don was very upfront, and communication was excellent. The “while we are in there” preventative maintenance he recommended has saved me untold time and expense in the long run. He is very skilled at his craft. I would highly recommend Don to perform all levels of work, from routine maintenance to major overhaul/restoration. I am extremely pleased with my experience with Don at 928 Done Right!

Anyone that owns a Porsche 928 can appreciate the difficulties of working on them and nuances to attention to detail that they demand. Deferred maintenance with these cars are death nails to both their longevity and reliability. The particular nuanced service issues cannot be ignored, not for long anyway. Can’t enough positive things about Don. If you have work done on your 928, I can’t recommend enough.I have a 928 that was my dads that he purchased new but as he got older didn’t do too much to keep it up. I went to several other higher end shops that didn’t have close to the knowledge Don had on what a 928 needs or even what to look at. I has Don go through my 928 with the directive: I want it to be a car I can drive on a regular basis and everything works. Don delivered. Having driven this car when new/young, it feels a lot like a remember. Don knows exactly what to look at, has great attention to detail, and can prioritize what’s important to address. My work included many of the major sub systems of the car that amounted to a significant mechanical and electrical systems restoration.

One of the best independent dealerships I've been to. Super honest people. I didn't buy a car but I did go there with a friend as an inspector. They let me do my thing and even let me jack up the car to look underneath and scan it with my computer. Thing was perfect. Super friendly people. I have a 912 and decided to call Don and see if he can fit me in to check out why my brake fluid was leaking. I feel like we are running out of people we can trust in the classic car mechanic area. I was taking the car to Werks 11. They installed the master cylinder. Upon further inspection, Don decided the master was installed incorrectly. He fixed it. Very easily. He also picked out a couple things to fix on the side. Little things. I trust Don. He earned my business based on great customer service and fast repair. When I called him day 1, he was legitimately concerned. He asked I send photo’s after our call. I sent him a video. He called back immediately and said Holy cow that’s bad. He even came to my house to confirm. So to reiterate. I called him. He came over. I had car towed to him. He fixed it very easily. Don is a good guy and you can trust him. If your outside his specialty which is 928’s you still may give him a call and see what he can do for you. He’s a real mechanic that has common sense approach and I would take it to him every time.

Had our 94 GTS taken to Don for overall service after a few years of mostly sitting. I was VERY lucky to have found Don as he represents what service used to be in the old days! He insisted on spending some time first with the owner to make sure his plan of service met with our expectations, he thoroughly went over the "common ailments" and service requirements for these vehicles as he knows them well and has a few himself. He was extremely thorough and informative throughout the process once our GTS was at the top of the service order, sending pictures and texts along the way. He is literally OCD, in a great way, as he has been tasked with taking care of a one-of-a-kind car. While we all know parts for these girls are very expensive, his labor expenses are very reasonable which is probably a by-product of the labor of love he has for the 928. Don't get surprised when he finds issues you never knew you had as he certainly will, although he leaves it up to you to address them after informing you with photos and an explanation. I never learned so much about this car and enjoyed my interactions with Don coaching me up on all of the various design issues and solutions that have come out over the years. Make no mistake, Don knows these cars better than anyone you'll find as no dealer will have "techs" who will know much about a 30+ year old car. Our car is now back at home driving like a dream thanks to his great work and care. We definitely got lucky to find 928 DONe Right which might as well be 928 DON Right as Don is invaluable to a 928 owner. Nothin replaces experience and it's obvious. Thanks Don! July 2024
